7 Years Old

They say 7 is the age of reason, but I say Max has always been a reasonable and wise child!

Happy 7th birthday to my sweetie pie!  Cheers to another year filled with firsts that you have managed to take head on and conquer.

You remain a brave, curious, careful, thoughtful, smart, patient, kind kiddo that makes me proud everyday!  Brave in going to new places with new people with an open mind.  Curious in everything that you do and see comes with a follow-up question.  Careful in always reminding me to keep both hands on the steering wheel and thinking out your choices.  Thoughtful in your words and actions.  Smart in excelling with above average grades in kindergarten, learning to read, add, subtract and always strategizing your next move.

Max is popular everywhere he goes because of his patience and kindness to others.  His kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Reeck, had a sweet story about Max.  She said that when all his friends said they learned math or reading in school, he said he learned how to "include" and made a picture of himself introducing an old friend to a new friend.

Max loves the color light blue, fishing, aquariums, adventures, outdoors, Panera mac 'n cheese, flag football (Go Dolphins!) and got play of the day his first day, parks, Pokémon, soccer (Go team Grey!), rookie ball (don’t you dare call it T-ball - Go Team White!), named Johnny his best friend, Kids YouTube videos watching other people play games, riding his two wheeler bike, GameWorks, swimming, Nickelodeon Universe, daiquiri ice cream, kayaking, Minecraft, remains a growing weed in the 98th percentile for height but 50th for weight, and still loves anything containing sugar!

Thank you for giving me my favorite name in the whole wide world, Mom.  There is never a time I don't love you!  I love you here, I love you there, I love you everywhere!

Love always,
Mom

6 Years Old

6 going on 16!  Where did the time go?

My big guy is becoming more independent by the day, but remains the same sweet, smart, silly, sensitive and still a little sassy dude.

Max loves playing with friends, smelly farts, Kids YouTube videos, soccer, Vikings, t-ball, monkey bars, loud burps, riding in GeGe's pez mobile, boating, crab cakes while searching for Rainbow hair friends, fishing, The Big Thrill Factory, swimming, pancakes, mini golf, snuggling (thank goodness), playing games, Disney music, and anything containing sugar!

There are not enough words to express how much I love my big guy.  I love that his curiosity continues to thrive, his kindness to others has no limits, his ability to handle change in stride, his thirst for knowledge, his growing assertiveness in sports, his calculated choices and his brave attitude to rock Kindergarten.  Go Rockford Rockets Class of 2030!

Max - You are the best parts of Mommy and Daddy.  Thank you for giving me my favorite name, Mommy.

I am grateful for you.  There is never a time I don't love you!  Or as Max would say, "I love you more, no changes!"  Then hang up, run off or cover his ears.
